Hello slingers,

In order to divert your attention from discussions about sling projectiles, I have a real yummie for you. The best movie scene I know of slings in battle, Take a look yourselves.

Okay, Stewart Granger is Lot leading the Hebrews, and the horsemen are presumably the Sodomites. So who are the archers in the fancy armour?

For an actor he's pretty good with a sling.

slingstones and arrows, classic team up for disaster.
it does just show what simple weapons, well organized, can do against do against even superior armies. something people refuse to believe even today.

I have never seen that movie before. It must have been a great day when everyone had to show up on the set for sling training.

Awesome , it´s like a history lesson on film!

That horseman at 2:36 got served badly. He took a slingshot to the head WHILE on fire.

Alot of the old sandal and toga epics were filmed in Spain where they might have been able to recruit some slingers who actually knew what they were doing.

It`s really good, it shows real slingin as it probably was done, many of those slingers seemed to perform just nicely, too.
Those fools who make historical movies today should have seen this one first ;)

good to see slings in films.

But seriously short slings and some truly awful slinging.

Still I guess we take what we can get :-)
