This is what I was inspired to make after watching this great video.  Hex nuts (for 14 mm bolts) and 4 mm poly-cord. Not a beauty, but OK for getting experience.  I have made bola`s (Norwegian for boleadora) before, but alwys with 3 equal lenghts and weights, gripped in the center knot.  I have always insisted on using too long and thin cords.  
So, this one is thicker, with two shorter ends with 2 hex nuts (held together with electricans tape) on each, and one longer part with just one hex nut, which is where I grip it.
It seems to work great, I study Rockman&friend a lot to improve my style, I find it strangely difficult to hit a target with a bola.
But it is a lot of fun, and now I relize it is as much a knocking as a tangling weapon, with the longer/lighter part as a "wild card" :)

I`ll need to learn more about lenghts and weights before I consider making a pretty one with braiding and stones and such...
