Title: Staff sling question Post by Woonilsra on Sep 3rd, 2009 at 7:10pm
I got curious reading all these posts today, and just didnt understand how to use them so i went ahead and googled it,
checked out a couple website, then checked out youtube and found peacefull jerys video. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2DjNjkhRgVk it rocks! now im going to go ahead and make one, since the weekends coming up and i ihave 3 days without school due to memorial day =) Only problem is if it goes as far as it does, i have no where to use it in my area, but ill have to double check. Would it make sense to just make the sling, then go off looking for a stick to attach the sling to while in my area? i think it would be simpler for me than carrying a big stick thru town. |

The funny thing is, that I've seen that video before, but didn't realize that it was peacefuljeffery's. I've got to try to make a staff sling... |

Title: Re: Staff sling question Post by David Morningstar on Sep 7th, 2009 at 1:24pm I made one for a group of Roman re-enactors using a spare javelin (a broomstick with a tennis ball on the end) and and Aussie pouched hand sling that I quickly tied on. I later made them a better one of jute cord and leather. They loved it and were soon throwing tennis balls very accurately with it. |

Yeah i must say, i made one out of a friends old pool poll for something or other with an appu style sling for tennis balls,
and i easily got past what i can do with tennis balls using a sling. I just wish i could have a safe place for rocks! |
