Most Europeans are. They stretched all over, even taking over the city of Rome at one point.

I've got a couple of axes, some swords, a mace or two... used to have a warhammer but I gave it away... need to make another one. I love medieval weapons! Of course, it could be argued that I love all weapons since I have a number of primitive stone age weapons, as well as quite a few guns as well.

Yes you do, you just don't know it. if you have access to a bench grinder, then you can serviceable knives.
I forgot, I have a slingstaff, and an amentum/. I also have 3 homemade daggers. |

oh, i do have the materials, but i don't even have a decent file that can grind a point on to metal, not to mention a bench grinder |

An indecent file will make a good knife! What do you have in the way of tools? What do you have access to? Who do you know? Who can you mug and get away with it? Ok, forget the last one. But when I started I was in college. I cleaned out the scrap bins of the lathes in exchange for using their tools. Other than that, I had a file. Nothing fancy. Just a file. It really doesn't take much in the way of equipment to make a knife. Mostly power tools just speed things up (til you screw up). K'Jev 8-) |

Jev hit the nail dead-center on that one.
Also, if your interested, try looking into a book called "$50 Knife Shop" by Wayne Goddard. It's a great read. And if you can't afford it, just do what I did; Go into a local book store that carries it, then read it and absorb all the parts useful to you without buying it! :D |

;DBack when I was a poor college student, I did that all the time. I had one Anthropology teacher who wanted us to buy about a dozen books, just to read and then write a whole whopping paragraph on. So I was "browsing" the college bookstore when a helpful student/clerk/geek approached me. When I told him I was just looking, he told me I'd either have to buy it or leave. Upshot of it all was, I kind of got thrown out of the book store. But not before I'd read enough to get my assignment done! So if you have to take notes, I'd suggest finding an out-of-the-way corner, and a small notebook. Usually larger stores like Barnes & Noble or Borders actually have places where people can sit and read, though. K'Jev 8-) |

the problem is that i don't have any access to the right tools, and no one i know has a grinder. the file i was talking about that was indecent was my sisters nails files... :-?
like, my one of my friends can shoot, and has black powder (certified) as well as the fact that his dad has lots of tools, but his dad works on wood projects, and although he might have a laser cutter, and an ultra heated wire meant to cut through plastics, i doubt if he has a good metal grindable file |
