Title: Bullet of Tissaphernes
Post by slingbadger on Jan 7th, 2007 at 3:01pm
Just picked up a really great article on a lead glande found from the Pelopennisian war. It was originally published in the Journal of Hellenic studies in 1975. The author is Clive Foss.
It gives a nice little history of the sling's use at the time, and on the use of the lead glande.
I have it on disc. I would be happy to pass it on to anyone who wants it.

Some Small advantages ( and one of the bleeping few) working in Biomedical Research :) our Org's libary is covered under JSTOR.
Refresh my memory on the native american sling. Been printing off everything I can find on slinging in general off of that site.

Yep i have it, Not a bad little article. Currently reading a quick little journal about the games of the Aluets. They talk a bit about the spear thrower and the sling ( which they claim came from contact with the Russians) and the crossbow. Thought about doing a quick little article ( Transliteration) for the groups purusal.

Now on the other hand if ya look at the Journal of Palestinain Studies you find a bit more about the Palestinain Slingers and thier world :)

so do we need a secret handshake or decoder thingy for this :)

a minimised representation of your own favourite release style. (moving only your wrist, and elbow, if you have to)

I got one. How about simulating an underhand launch that ends up in the hands meeting. ( Were losing this thread)

It aint dead, it is just highjacked.
Happens to almost all threads here, no problem.

I like the idea to start the handshake like you would start slinging.
But if you normally helicopter or fig 8 you might work out a toned down version.
With my preference for simple styles I am lucky  ;)
