Me and some friends were hanging out in the backyard the other day and one of the little brothers there wanted to play hide and seek tag real bad. So we went ahead and played. Well the little bro. kept tripping over his shoelaces. So I showed him how to do what I call a double knot. You tie your shoes reugularly and simply tie the loops (or bunny ears) together in a square knot. And done. Maybe Willeke can give me an actual name.

That was three days ago at least. This evening I get a knock on the door (they live right behind me) and his 15 year old brother hands me the shoes saying that they have to leave in like 5 min and no-one could get the knot out!! Perhaps their mom was to busy, I'm pretty sure that's it by the way he sounded, but neither one of the little boys older bros. could get it undone. It takes like 6 seconds to undo this knot.
I thought at least the eldest could do it but nope.
I think I laughed for ten minutes.
Knowing the same thing has happened to me didn't stop me from laughing after they left ;D

I only wear sandals - the joy of velcro :-)
And wellies don't have any fastenings :-)

im a double knotter :)

When I wear shoes with laces I tie them with a (reef) bow, or sometimes the Ian Knot, never a double knot as it can jam and my shoes do not come undone often enough to bother.
But I prefer footwear without laces whenever posible.
