On rare occasions, I manage to chant these two mantras while I'm slinging:

1/ The ONLY! purpose of a wind-up is to move the pocket/ammo to a position from which it can be snapped forward to release.

2/ The wind-up puts NO! power into the ammo.

If I chant this, and do VERY! slow and deliberate wind-ups, my range and accuracy improves dramatically!!

Slings are perverse creatures and cannot be forced to perform. ;D
