I have been making and using slings for a long time.
The ones I use to make were leather.  I designed and I am starting a braided one from nylon.

I have a question.
I read an article that says
"the Achaeans, especially the inhabitants of Agium, Patrae, and Dymae, were celebrated as expert slingers.  The slings of these Achaeans were made of three thongs of leather, and not of one only, like those of other nations.
Where can I view a photo, drawing or a more detailed description of these slings made of three thongs?

As for the three cord sling, use the search function and look for it on this site.  Someone made one last fall and posted a pic.  It was a totally symetrical design with a triangular pouch and three cords.

Here was the interesting discussion about Acheans' slings. Our history experts have written some interesting things about it. I don't remember where it is, but you could find it in the same way as Jeff said.

Hi Sanpcut, the achaean sling is a problem that remains obscure. As Yurek say, it has been discussed before in the forum and need more research. Now that Dan Bollinger is here, and that we discussed the subjet some years ago, may be we can follow on with it. The achaean sling could be a triple cord sling or a three parts pocket  ::).

There is a picture in the Gallery of Mr. Greenfield's 3-corded sling.  It's possible it looked like that.
