Title: Slinger's 31st Post by Whipartist on Oct 31st, 2003 at 11:05pm
This is how I spent today.
I killed myself a pumkin. He was a tuff case. If it wasn't for my facial hair I wouldn't have been able to nail him at all. When I did get him it was fatal. The stone went in and hit the stake inside, making a dent in it. Otherwise it would have easily gone right through. I named him appropriately, "Goliath." Have a great evening, Ben P.S. And I hope you all know what to do with your pumkins tomorrow.... Heh heh. |

Man, I would have thought that that tarp was awfully small. But you actually hit the pumpkin. :D
Keep up the great work. jeff <>< |

I was 15 yards back and I didn't use my glands. I used a 4oz rock a little smaller than an egg. It's in my left hand in the picture. It looks white because I marked it with paint.
The excitement from trying to hit Goliath, having an audience, varying rocks, and a waterlogged backyard, threw my aim off! I couldn't come close for quite a few throws. But then I calmed down and started following my own rules and ignoring the water and audience. From there I hit him in just a few good throws. This sport takes relaxation! The hole in the shot was my first hit and only hit on him! I was hoping for a good shot instead of just nicking the sides or something. And I got it! Right in the forehead! Next I want to try watermelon! I'll be having more fun with Goliath today. Ben |

Try 20+ years to 24 ;D Although I must say I am blessed with great health. Its good to put faces to the names.
You don't happen to have a pic of that golf net you bought do you? |
Title: Re: Slinger's 31st Post by Whipartist on Nov 2nd, 2003 at 2:41pm
The net is actually at my feet in the picture. Not much to look at, just standard net looking. It's tuff stuff, but not very thick. It does the job when put behind the tarp. Not too many more holes in the tarp now.

R. Lee Ermey has a thing about watermelons, I guess for you it's about pumpkins? Ha! Good hit though, I know I've left some nasty dents in hedge corner posts before, and a few tree's. I guess it's time for me to get a little creative..wait a minute, there's those rotten Jack'o'Lanterns on the front porch!!
