I have been interested in primitive archery for about 45 years and don't think I have ever owned archery equipment with sights, etc. but the SLING is something I have a very deep fascination with. I work with leather and have been making my own bow-strings for quite some time.
Bow-string material may lend itself to sling usage quite well and am willing to gamble some experimental time w/ it.
I have some fairly decent materiel on braiding leather but it would be utilized to any braiding material; I'm fairly sure.

I am VERY interested in seeing what others have done with slings, especially what materials have been successful and have a high quality-level about them.

Let me repeat my Welcome and Greetings to you. I can see you're going to fit right in here. We have quite a few members interested in archery, atlatls and all sorts of primitive weapons and hand skills, leathercraft etc.

Bowstring material will be more than adequate for slings. The load on sling cords is a good deal less than that carried by a bowstring and there's no shock load at the end like the snap of the arrow release.
