Wow! For a guy who's so new at this, you're really progressing very quickly with your sling-making! :)

As for whippings, it's true that superglue comes recommended, but frankly, I think that if a whipping is done right, it obviates the need for glue. But I'm not sure how you're tying your whippings. ...

I had a conversation with slingingrat about glue and whippings. I had been using a slippery synthetic material with no glue. Last few batches have had glue with no reports of failure.  It appears if you tie it properly and use something a bit stickie (hemp, jute, etc) there is not much need for glue.

Your slings are progressing faster then most, keep up the good work NavyDT.

Good stuff, NavyDT.  One reason I make a lot of slings to give away is the more you make the better you get.  Just keep making them. You're doing great.  I've found that even with jute my West Country Whipping will eventually come loose without a little glue gun glue.  It doesn't take much to hold the last knot in place and personally, I wouldn't be without it.

i took my slings to work today and used some glue there. it seams to really have done the trick. i LOVE my new rockman sling, it is by far the best performing sling, and odly enough my shortest, yet farthest casting sling. at any rate thanks again for the support guys!

The reason i am making so many slings is i am trying to get some of my co-workers into it. after the saw my throw a few stones 80 yards today they were pretty impressed. needless to say i cant imagine what it would take to throw 200m! at any rate thanks again

Good to hear you enjoy this design. I´m gonna have to borrow that release knot of yours. A replaceable cracker, awesome idea.

Sad to say your slings already look better then mine. Or maybe I should say I am happy to say they do. Anyhow... :-?  Keep them coming!
