i know this might not be a weapon but does any1 here make bottle rockets if so what do you to propel it i usally just use a cork attached to tube which has air pumped through it with a foot pump and the other end is attached to the bottle and you keep pumping till it goes off
also wht size bottles do you use and what kind of water ratios do you find works best and do u attach cones and fins to your bottles if u have pics that would be brillant

To answer the question, Mythbusters actually did a segment on water bottle rockets.

You basically take a 2 liter bottle fill it 1/2 way with water and then attach an air pump through the cap and pump air to a high pressure. Design a way to take off thebottle immediately and you have a bottle rocket. Simple and lots of fun to set off but gets boring quick.
(atleast for me they do).

Take a bottle, and put in vinegar and baking soda. They react to form (among other things) CO2 which builds the pressure. The cork will shoot off at high speed. Fun in the dark with glow-in-the-dark paint.

we played with water bottle rockets in tech ed in 7th grade, mine was just a bottle with fins taped to the sides where i thought that they looked right.  the cone that i made was one that fit loosely over the bottom of the bottle, under i taped a long string with lots of little paper squares tied along the length, acting like a bunch of little parachutes to slow the descent.

my teacher had a special pump that fit the mouth of a bottle.  you would pump rapidly to build up pressure, then pull some sort of release that let the bottle slip off the end  of the   device.

Make a paste with the baking soda instead by mixing it with water and freeze it. then fill the rest with vinegar and put the top on.   Run.  It should explode.

Anyway, while lots makes everything more fun, it wastes materials. Since it will only shoot at a certain pressure, the amount of materials only dictates how long it takes for that pressure to build up. So just experiment....

I like the freezing idea, you can also use coffefilters or papyrus (dissolves in vinegar; thank you davinci code).

Rockets first used as weapons in China in Battle of Kai Fung Foo (English jump in here and help me with the date)! :D

ahh yes. and not quite so primitive by the Indians (no not american Indians!) and then the Brits.  

These are plastic bottles with some water in them. Not to say that I couldn't turn one into a weapon mighty quick  ;D ::)

having beer and swapping stories, and he told me that there is a rule of thumb in rocketry: You build a rocket, launch it, it BLOWS UP on the pad or soon after launch. Then you do this again. And again, and again....... after you've had about TEN rockets BLOW UP on you, then you finally get it right.

lol nothing against you Dan, but I am currently studing to be a "rocket" scientist (Aerospace Engineering) and if I were to keep building rockets till they didnt blow up i do not think i would be able to get a job after college

maybe thats how things worked 30 yrs ago.. but nowadays we actually test our designs using scalable models and computer simulations. :-D

         Yes, we did do things differently 30 years ago! When my older brother was in the Air Force launching rockets, my twin brother and I were in Junior High School launching rockets. Are you familiar with the Estes solid rocket motors? Well, my twin brother and I made a few .......uh......."nonstandard, unauthorized" modifications. So I know about rockets blowing up on the pad from my older brother's stories, and FIRSTHAND. :o                                                                    
         Luckily, I still have ten fingers and two eyeballs, and am too old for such foolishness, anyway.                                       .......Dan
