I am aware that most of the people reading this forum will no be able to come, but I still like to tell you about a knottyers meeting.
Saturday 13th of May 2006 there is a meeting of the International Guild of Knot Tyers in Shrewsbury, England. The meeting starts with an informal gathering in a pub on Friday evening. On Saturday we have the formal meeting, with a show of knotwork and demonstrations of knots and associated crafts as spinning and braiding. (And maybe even some rope stage-magic). There is no set time for visitors but generally we have most time on Saturday afternoon to talk. So the best time to visit will be from 13:30 forward. And do not miss the raffle, the only raffle in the world where some people win a bit of string and be happy with it, (there is much more to choose from,) at 16:00, ticket being sold in the afternoon. The address of the meeting? Lord Hill Hotel, Abbey Foregate, Shrewsbury, England. (The pub for the Friday evening in the Bricklayers Arms, in the same road.) Willeke |

Do you want me to look up the dates and places of the American knottyers meetings?
I know there is one on the west coast this summer. Willeke |

I was lucky enough to get some one-on-one time with a very talented splicer.
I I learned the Sailers eyesplice, flemish eyesplice, and backsplice. Interesting methods. Ok just thought I'd share -Unsapien |
