Be careful with these electric pranks... one fool gave my friend a ball point pen which gives you a shock when the clicker is pushed and my friend got an arrhythmia! >:(  On the other hand, the fool got several nasty bruises and welts, as my friend is a fairly good thaiboxer :o

heh, my art teacher has a can that looks like a beer can and when you pick it up it shocks you. Some poor fool was shocked (o, what a clever pun) and dropped it. Do you know how hard those things are to pick up, carry across a room and place it standing upright on a crooked shelf? :)

I called up my grandmother and said
"wheres mom? she did not come home last night is she with you?"

man i never heard that woman yell so much as when i broke it too her :)

my stepfather called her up and said guess what O.J. killed his new wife.

she hates O.J. i think that one was great she started to hit my stepfather when he started laughing.  :)

Once Clipped a fart machine to the back of a colleague's pants with a dummy mic cord running up to his lapel before a big speech.  Told him it was for transmitting to an adjacent room so that others could hear him.

It really got the ball rolling....

heh, i saw some kids at school who were doing something that sounds very dumb yet was actually quite amusing :)

There is a row of swinging doors which accomodate one person at a time. So when one person was about to walk through one of them, 8 or so guys would walk in circles through the doors. Kind of difficult to explain, but it actually looked really cool, and seriously confused/intimidated people coming and going.

by swinging, do you mean revolving?

Title: Re: april fools pranks
Post by CanDo on Apr 5th, 2006 at 7:32pm
no just hinged, they only open in one direction.

it gave the effect of hundreds (a tide) of people pouring in through the doors.

at my old high school some years ago, my friend and I in the computer classroom went around and switched several of the keyboard cables in the in the computers to ones across from them so as they would type, it would come up on the other person's screen and vice versa. Oh wow, did we ever laugh that one up! They never found out who did it, and we still remind each other of that prank to this day.

A really good one, if your mate is the Head of State of a small Middle Eastern Country, is to write a letter to the President of the United States claiming to be a spy, and saying they are stockpiling Weapons of Mass destruction.

My Pal Saddam was upset at first, but we will have a good laugh about it someday.

My friend threw a dead carp into a truck cab. I wouldn't have nothing to do with it but i watched. He is way to crazy for me.

I've done that before (late april fools)
I have a hypothetic situation
Knowing a sling can quadrouple the distance you can throw, and your average throw, unaided, is about 50 feet.  Couldn't you, hypotheticly egg all the houses in the nieborhood that is 100 feet away?

Yes you could indeed  ::) hmm how long did it take for an egg to go off again ::)  ;DKidding :P

no halloween here :P and at any rate i'm a little old right ;D But do we really need halloween for egging ::)

Title: Re: april fools pranks
Post by person3 on Apr 12th, 2006 at 5:37pm
it helps, your less likely to be caught with everyone  doing pranks.

Or, you could do the right thing and sling eggs at the vandals.
somebody smashed a bunch of mailboxes in my neiborhood, i could have a stake out and get him with my sling(legal,  if there tresspasing)
acualy, you could rightfully get him wth an air rifle (or real rifle) if he is being a threat.
but slings have a more pearsonal touch

haha your never too old. I use halloween as an excuse to dress up like a viking. i just have younger brothers who like to go trick or treating and i walk them around to protect them from the egging vandals. (then at night i hang out with some of the egging vandals, they want to learn how to sling for some reason. I keep it a hushed so dont worry about them getting the sling in trouble  :))

I pretty much did this to myself, though not as a prank. I stink at typing so I re-arranged the keys to an easier format. Below is my keyboard layout:

wow, I am a techno nerd, so I unplugged the internet connection and left it right near the plug so it was hard to tell it was unplugged. It seems cruel but I really dont like that teacher and he probably isnt smart enough to figure it out. Someone also brought in a universal remote (a small one) and messed with the tv's that are in every room. People got creeped out when the tv turned on and turned its volume up. When someone turned the volume down or the tv off, then the guy would put it back on at full volume. it was hilarious

Well, basically, when Sholes invented the typewriter it would mess up every now and then if someone typed too quickly. Soon after people started using the typewriter they started using all 10 fingers to type. Sholes had never intended for people to type with all 10 fingers, just the two index fingers. This caused keyboards to jam easily, so Sholes developed a keyboard to solve this. What it did was it bunched up common letters so that if someone was using 10 fingers to type, they'd have to commonly use the same finger to type many letters consecutively (I think this is how it works, though I'm still not totally sure). Anyhow, this keyboard is commonly known as the "qwerty" keyboard (take a look at the top left six letters on your keyboard to see why). It is the standard keyboard. Dvorak decided to make a keyboard on the opposite basis, to make ten finger typing easier and to slow down two finger typers. He called his keyboard "The Simplified Keyboard" though today it's better known as the "Dvorak keyboard". It has the ten most common letters on the home row so that there is a high probability that the letter you need to type will be on the home row. (the home row is: aoeuidhtns [good to know for hangman ;D]). The Dvorak keyboard is easier to make than you probably think. Go into control panel --> Regional and Language Options --> Languages --> Details --> Add. Then choose to add English with keyboard layout "dvorak". Then you can either set it to default (what I did) or if you just want to mess with it leave Qwerty as default. That's the short answer. If you want the long answer, go to http://www.dvorak-keyboards.com/ and browse the site for details/answers to your questions.

This should answer your question in better detail: http://www.dvorak-keyboards.com/Dvorak_keyboard_why_it_works.htm

By the way, the world's fastest typist uses Dvorak: http://sominfo.syr.edu/facstaff/dvorak/blackburn.html

haha, i tried the Dvorak thingy with the control panel, and just laughed then it i typed something in Word and somethign reandom jusdt turned up. i cant wait till april fools day next year. :P

a trick which i tied a few years ago was to get a cheap, ceramic plate, and hide it in the kitchen where mum could't find it. then i offered to wash one of her best ceramic casserole dishes and she could get some free time. about 10 seconds after she left the room, i got out the cheap plate and dropped it on the floor, taking care to swear loudly for my 'mistake'. ooooooo the look on mum's face when she came running in...i haven't laughed so hard in years. ;D ;D
