I love really hard science and maths and physics being employed for crazy things. It's always awesome.

Ever since I saw a super sonic ping-pong ball cannon (powered by vacuum), I've been wondering what sort of power could be generated if high pressure and negative pressure were combined with Venturi nozzle, etc. What they created was exactly that, and it was fantastic. Their high pressure release mechanism is ingenious to me.
Only problem is that a baseball is not a perfect sphere, and thus there are inefficiencies associated with that. A greased lacrosse ball would probably be better.

I would now like to see the very same design scaled down to fire golf balls, potatoes, etc.

Obviously people with too much money and time on their hands but just the same a fascinating video well worth the watch.  Who wouldn't want to see a 1300 mph baseball pulverize itself?

It's a bunch of engineers pursuing their hobbies.

Most of the funding comes from YouTube and donations.  Along with some sponsors.  But the rest comes out of their own pocket.

You've never wasted money on a hobby?   Grin

I wish I could say that I never have.
