Slinging in Spain?
Sep 3rd, 2020 at 7:12am

I am currently residing in Eastern Spain. My location is as close to the Balearic Islands you can get without actually leaving mainland Spain.

That considered are there any clubs/events/shops/historic sites/great slinging sites or anything at all in this area?
Might give a more precise location if needed.

And if not what are some events/places to visit in the Balearic?

You might as well go to the island of Mallorca,  every year the end of February beginning of March is the international competition.

The International Competition is fantastic! Definitely come over for it. I'll be there next year. There are a few different clubs on the different islands, last year we were joined by quite a few of them.

Currently the German, Austrian, Finnish confederation Team Finnlandia hold the International Team Cup. We could allow some Australians to join I guess Cheesy

Is it just a small competition?

if you just want to pop over to mallorca for a tour and meet some slingers - then can i suggest you contact joan oliver in soller.
https://www.facebook.com/Metgejoan?fref=profile_friend_list&hc_location=friends_...
Just the best host and has his own training ground.

Or drop mar cuesta a message - not only one of the best slingers in the islands - male or female, but a damn nice person and a taxi driver as well Smiley

Or if you can make it to ibiza - give marcos and sonia a shout. The absolutely best hosts and a true slinging family - who also have their own training ground Smiley
https://www.facebook.com/sonia.tur.riera?fref=profile_friend_list&hc_location=fr...

If you're feeling adventurous and a little suicidal - contact adrien van dieman - his official ibizan title is well earned: The mad dutchman.
Road traffic laws were created for lesser men !

Or go to menorca and look up Louis pons livermore - the entire menorcan slinging community are all thoroughly great people.
https://www.facebook.com/luislivermore?fref=profile_friend_list&hc_location=frie...

Or if you want to get in the local paper - drop pep ribas ribas a line.
And he'll send a minion to collect you - he don't drive Smiley
lol

basically if you can get to any of the islands I'm 100% sure we can get you a slinging guide Smiley
Most of them do have some english and some german and some italian - but spanish and catalan would be your best bet.

That said - poor old ukranian alexander turned up for 2 years with not a word of any common language - god bless google translate !

Just tell them English Alex from slinging.org said to contact them. They'll either deny all knowlege and call you rude names - or not whistle
lol

He was speaking a tiny bit of English this year. Of course it was my first time meeting him but David was amazed. Despite the language barrier he was a thoroughly nice bloke. I have a Ukrainian magnet on my fridge and I got one of his sling stones Cheesy

I visited a local museum depicting historical scenes with small metal figures and found several slinger assemblies.

They look like they are being attacked by an overhead foe. Possibly more evidence of alien life on earth? (j/k)
