Ice vs. Pot

It's a kitchen pot, not the other kind of pot. Wink

I mounted a pot to one of my targets and threw ice balls at it to see what happened.

Those dents are surprising. How far away? I want to calculate average velocity.

How far away?

I tried to get a close measurement and it's right at the 50' mark.

That's amazingly dented. I've thrown ice balls occasionally at my big pan target but I don't think I've gotten dents like that. It's a bit hard to tell these days what's a new dent but I might have to see if I can get anything similar. I have two six ball and one 4 ball mold so 16 balls at a time is pretty good for building up an ammo cache Cheesy

I don't think I ever asked you Kick, how far away is your slinging location?  Ice is an awesome ammunition, but it doesn't travel that well so you need to be close to your freezer.

And yeah, 16 is a bunch.  If you did two batches a day for a week you could break the 200 mark.  I've been thinking about getting a third mold, but I pretty much have my freezer space maxed out already after a week.

It's about a 5 minute walk away. I wouldn't want to take them out for a few months yet otherwise I would get there with a refreshing drink but not much ammo. It's a good thing autumn days get cold over here.

Good vid, Joe.  This is why I always advise that if you're going to use a sling in a snowball fight don't pack your snowballs too hard, especially if the snow is wet.  You could really hurt someone.
