Things You Can't Stop Eating
Jul 19th, 2020 at 2:52pm

What are some things you can't stop eating once you start.  I have several; grapes, potato chips, and with pizza I have to stop myself from eating the whole pie.     I can pig out on ice cream too. Probably my worst is cherries.  There is just something about them.  I have to force myself to stop.  I've been known to eat two pounds in a sitting.
What do you have trouble putting down once you start in on it?

Digestive biscuits. I'm starting to think they have crack in them. I've got a sweet tooth so any type of candy (as the Americans say) is gone within 3 minutes of entering a room.

I'm with mersa - pretty much any kind of jerky or biltong.
I try to make it last, but the last two batches of pork belly jerky (just about the best meat I've ever made jerky from) never left the workshop (where the dehydrator is based).
Ordinarily I vacpack a batch into small packs to tay and eke it out.
The pbj never left the bowl I put it into straight from the dehydrator.

Other than that, these days I can't and don't eat anything excessively and nothing with carbohydrate in it.

bbq'd Chicken wings are up there.
If I've got some left over from the actual meal - I'll eat them while clearing up.
And ribs Smiley

Chocolate is another one.  I can put down some chocolate.  Once my mother in law bought a five pound block of chocolate at an auction.  She gave it to me.  It took a  week or so but I ate the whole thing.  On Halloween I always wait until the day before to buy candy for the kids.  If I buy it any sooner it'll never make it to Halloween.  I'm sort of like Beavis when it comes to chocolate candy.

You know after over a year - I no longer miss chocolate.
It's an addiction that really takes some kicking though.

My sugar craving only lasted about 2 weeks.
But it took about 9 months for the chocolate craving to finally go.

My dad can eat a LOT of chocolate.

He tells everyone that the best christmas present he ever had was a 7lb block/lump of chocolate I liberated from the biscuit factory I was working from at the time.

I wrapped it up in a big box Smiley

The machines that cover biscuits/cookies with chocolate are called enrobers. and they leak. So they used to line a large tray with a clean bag and collect the l;eaked chocolate. Tjen throw it away !
So when i started doing break relief in the chocolate room - I started taking the waste home.

Amazingly nobody had done it before. People are weird !

It's also where I drank a cup of melted chocolate.
Weird experience as it starts to solidify and then remelts as you are drinking it.

I eat  a lot of cheese.
