Underarm is a style I find redundant once you develop other styles, but hey the more arrows in the quiver the better I guess

that's sidearm - underhand is quite different And doesn't use the final over-the-top-of-your-hand rotation that brings the pouch in at a sideways angle.

Basically that's just bog standard balearic sidearm Smiley

It's one of those styles that suits itself to distance and fixed distance target shooting.

Because you are releasing on a horizontal plane, adjusting for different distances is pretty tricky.

The more I looked at myself the more I was doubting whether it is underhand. More like a low sidearm. Time to change the title

I've really struggled with side arm. I just can#t really get it to feel all that comfortable.

I like the black and white photo Jauke. It makes you seem even more sophisticated than you already are. Like you, as a slinger, know things the average person could only dream of.

Also have the urge to buy expensive cologne for some reason.

If I had any idea how to film and edit to the standard in my imagination I’d love to put together a big comparison compilation of throwing styles of forum members.

Es sieht nicht schlecht aus. Aber es ist keiner reiner Stil erkennbar. Einige Elemente werden vermischt.  Das ist durchaus normal. Die Hüfte arbeitet ganz gut.

While there may be some biomechanical advantages to certain movements, the number of degrees of freedom is the same whether releasing up, down, sideways, horizontal, or backwards. It all depends on the mind being able to bring the sling through the right plane of motion and release at the right time... i.e. practice. Nothing to do with how the projectile is released.
