Sling out of speed jump-rope?

Has anyone tried this? I have one at home wondering if I should cut it up and try making a sling out of it.

I don't know but they seem to be like electric cables, and I found that those are not good for sling cords.

It might not be flexible enough. Of course the only way to find out is to try

It says nylon coated... nylon coated what? Is it a steel core? It might work if you used something else for the pouch, but I think you’d also want the release cord to bend more easily.

I would have some concerns about the weight. I don't have one of these ropes, nor have I ever used one. So this is mostly speculation. But with a jump rope you normally want the rope to have some mass, so there's a good amount of momentum once you have it going. This is usually the opposite for a sling cord. Although as was already stated, won't hurt anything to try it. Other than the jump rope of course.

cable would indicate metal.
And something 6mm in diameter with enough weight to be used in speed skipping would need weight - so metal cable makes sense.
Could be interesting for slinging light ammo - paint balls being a light weight ammo I'd love to be able to sling with out dislocating a shoulder.
That said I'm currently leaning towards making some custom 3d printed sling shots for paint ball use.
Once I've got a decent design and a handled pouch for the paintballs I'll probably stick them up for sale.
But a heavy sling should work.

I've made slings out of just about everything. Go for it. You never know.
