Slingers World Problems
May 26th, 2020 at 4:24pm

Saw a mouse this weekend  at the range.
mice in the city are no problem if they remain in the sewers. but at the range I pick up stones and sling them if they have dust on and i don't knock it off then there is a visible puff of dust upon release , it's not that uch that it would cause silicosis.. but since I saw the rodent I wondered if there could be a way that I get infected by rodent feces or something getting airborne during slinging. And there appear to be numerous diseases that one could contract.
very strange how our species and almost every mammal is still alive with all these diseases around.

anyone had experience with rodents on playgrounds/parks/construction sites? what is the best action, just was hands and dont touch dirty stones?

To be honest rodents are everywhere and if something can live on the dust of the stone itís just as likely to go airborne with you walking through the area. Out West we have both Hantavirus and plague. Plague not a huge issue so long as you arenít touching rodents. But hantavirus can be spread through urine/feces and general rodent nastiness. I doubt thereís anything you could really do besides going to an area without any rodent diseases to protect yourself though. Basic precautions is plenty in most areas I would think. Mostly wash your hands and donít touch your face.

I donít think the risk is higher than before you saw the rodent. If you havenít gotten sick yet itís probably not because there werenít rodents running around. Wash your hands and donít lick the rocks, and youíll probably be just fine Smiley
