Hello everyone, Captain_Twine here! I started with slinging about a month or two ago, (I started shortly before the virus outbreak.) I actually braided my first sling following a "pictorial" on this very forum - Which, upon further examination, got me hooked. I'm looking forward to the chance to better get to know the sport, the craft, and the community!

Welcome from a fellow newbie!

Also just joined but have been looking at tutorials and technique posts on here for awhile. It's fun stuff, for sure.

Just starting out. Waiting for the water to go down for some smooth rocks. Railroad ballast is good enough for government work. I now know all the places with decorative river rock in town.

Thanks! Same here; Slinging has been keeping me from going crazy during quarantine.

Welcome from Finland! Check out the Indoor Challenges that joe_meadmaker has come up with. They're super fun. I still need to do the latest one but hopefully I'll get it done this week.

Yep, same, it's been a great quarantine activity. I used to really enjoy the zen of perfecting my basketball jumpshot. This is really similar. A good blend of getting into the zone and getting to know how your body works.

I went out today and managed to figure out the figure-8 technique. Whoa! Massive improvement in accuracy, but also it feels way better on my shoulder and forearm than Greek overhand or Byzantine.

I, without sin, shall cast the first stone. That will be your sign to attack! But you shall not fight this unholy enemy with stones. No! RAZOR GLANDES!  Aim for the eyes! May the Lord have mercy, for we shall show none!“  -Jesus the Noodler
