What I’m spinning - show us your current set up
Apr 8th, 2020 at 10:06pm

Hey guys I think I posted on here Toni’s ago about making Kevlar slings. Well I haven’t made a 100% Kevlar sling yet... but I’ve come up with my favourite set up...

It’s an adapted version of Aussies seatbelt sling... I use Kevlar cordage for the arms, 1.5” seatbelt material from baby car seats, and am using builders string for the whipping around the knots.

Please share your current set up!

Nice! I have a seatbelt sling made by vetryan. I often have it in my coat pocket because it can handle any ammo pretty much. It's a great design.

Thanks so much! I tried so many times and couldn’t figure out how to.

I think I will try emailing it to myself first next time.

I’m trying to get hold of some Kevlar webbing and Kevlar braided line so I can make some 100% Kevlar ones - I’ll put a couple up to trade once I have

You're welcome.  I use MS Paint.  It's a small, simple program that's very easy to use.

Could we get a close-up of the pouch ? I can't figure how you did it to keep it as sturdy as leather Smiley

Nice slings all.

On the image resizing front- those of you on windows 10 should be able to do it with the default image opening program, just go on the options and you should be able to find a resize somewhere. 800x600 works fairly well.

For a 5" pouch, cut five 1/16" diameter strings 28" long. Ctr these and place them one inch above the pouch split and tie in place. Fold the upper strings down and over the lower and wrap in place until you get to the split. Braid the lower five strings using a five strand flat braid then braid over the right side of the pouch. Combine the strins at the end of thepouch and wrap in place. Now sew the covering in place.

Ok, so you weave a protection around the pouch, nice thinking Smiley
