Ice vs. Shield

I've been thinking about this one for quite a while and finally had a chance to try it. Super fun!
This is the first time I had more than one camera (phone camera) running. The second camera is my old phone, so you'll notice the quality isn't as good when it switches over. Also the direction I had it pointing wasn't quite right so it only pickup a handful of shots. It's still pretty cool to see another angle though.
Enjoy!

So much fun. I have a friend who saw the video and wants to try it. He doesn't sling but I told him I would throw for him.

A shield is something I want to make at some point. Jaegoor's video of slinging with a shield would be interesting to recreate.

I hadn't seen that one. Had to go look it up. A recreation with another take on it could be very cool.
Times like this I wish I had another slinger nearby. It would be fun to put together some non-harmful ammunition, like some sock balls or something. And do some battling with sling and shield.

I would love to do that. If you make it over to Finland sometime, I'll gladly do battle with you

A pair of safety glasses a shield and a understanding that we only try trow at each other from 30m or further. Sounds like a great day at the park and keeps to social distance measures

Give me a break!
That was literally my first time doing that. Other than a few 'proof of concept' throws before setting up cameras.
I also found that throwing straight up was more difficult to get the hang of than I expected. At the beginning everything was going behind me.

lol - to be fair my slinging party trick is to sling straight up hold out my hand and catch without moving.
I've probably had more practice than most
Underhand is best of you keep your arm still by your side and just use your wrist - keeps it closer to your body and gives you a more vertical throw.

Yes this was fun! Came to mind: I have for sling tests a motorcycle helmet. It could receive hits.

Wow that sound of it hitting the shield is incredibly satisfying.
This kind of makes me wish we had larger versions of paintballs to sling at each other. One group could stay in a make shift fort and the other could lay siege. Paintglandes! the catch phrase could be “Hold My Mead.”

Sorry Yestan, I completely missed your post. Welcome to the forum! I actually got the idea to try this last winter. But I wanted to wait until the weather was good enough so I could run across the yard without having to look where I was going.
I hope you give it a try and post a video. I'd love to see it.

Now that is just a great idea.
