splicing a 2 ply rope
Mar 21st, 2020 at 4:32am

Does anyone know how to do it ?
I can find plenty of tutorials for a 3 strand rope but for strange reasons, I mainly work with 2 strands ropes and am currently looking for a nicer way to end it rather than a simple overknot or a more compact one than splicing an eye.

Any tip ?

short answer:
The same way as with 3-ply.
You start with an overhand knot of the 2 plies and continue with passing over under similarly to the  3-ply method. The result will look like 4 strand braid.

I have tried to backsplice into the backsplice and it can be done but the release knot gets too heavy and bulky.
