hey crew!!
Feb 6th, 2020 at 8:15am

My name is max and im a 19 year old from South Western Australia. ive been slinging for about 6 months and have loved every minute of it. Ive finally stopped being a lurker and made an account! Im  super excited to meet you all and pick everyones brains, learning the intricacies, physics and general knowledge of this sport.
I use a single strand split pouch sling made by my good buddy (who alot of you already know) Mersa, which is pictured below, and i use a weird technique thats got a bit of figure 8 and a bit of overhand in it. any tips or comments on my technique would be greatly appreciated!
thanks heaps everyone hope to hear from you soon!

Welcome Maxiii!!!

This dude is definitely the best first time slinger I’ve ever had anything to do with. Was throwing 40m and forwards in the first 15-20 throws he ever tried.

Yeah boi

Howdy from South Texas!

The Aussie slingers are taking over!  Well done Mersa. I can see the small influence you had on Max’s choice of slings Smiley

Welcome from Finland! Well if you've got Mersa as a teacher you're already doing better than a lot of us that struggled (and still struggle...) with getting the hang of it on our own Cheesy

hes a great teacher for sure. i find it easier to get the hang of things when i understand it from a physics and biometric point of view, and Mersa is very good at explaining things that way

Hi Max!  Welcome from Pennsylvania USA!

Nice throw.  Definitely an interesting style.  I'll have to give that a try.

Are you another potential candidate for the Australian crew in Guam next year? Wink

looks like pretty normal fig 8 to me.

I've occasionally used the hanging start.

Throw looks smooth Smiley

I would definitely concede, as you have a much more experienced eye.  Although to me it looks like the rotation of the sling is in a horizontal plane above his head.  I don't recall seeing a figure 8 like that before.  It could also be the angle of the camera.

Welcome
Are you a lefty or is the video flipped?
The style seems to be Byzantine . There is no rotation behind the back..
