apparently tennis balls weigh about 58 gms.
clay ball wise - usually aim for somewhere between 60-70gms.

I mostly sling tennis balls but really that's a recent development. I started off with 200g+ stones and I've cut that back a little, when I do use stones, to between 70g and 150g or so.

I sling a variety, probably most comfortable with stones around 70-100g so chose that option.

Depends on range...
Lighter stones, around 50g for distance
and around 125g for target, but I'm trying to switch to something lighter, considering I often have to carry my ammo around...
Oh, and 200g or more for very slow warmup throws...

I normally use plastic balls that have been filled with silicon, or ice balls. I have the advantage that most of my slinging is done in my yard. So no problem using ice balls even in the summer. I just have to limit it to taking 12 (+/-) at a time out of the freezer so they don't start melting too much
The plastic balls I use are between 120-130g. I ran a quick calculation of what the ice should be, and that came out at approximately 134g.

Well most common is tennis balls, I have a park/oval out my front door so thats what i get to use the most, although if I can get out of town I prefer more heavy and dense ammo in the 150-200g range.

Sure. They're just plastic street hockey balls. I originally bought them because I was looking for something that was low bounce. They worked for slinging, but didn't have much weight. So I drilled a small hole in each one and filled them up using a caulking gun and tubes of silicon. It took a little time but they work really well now.

I'd guess within the ~50-75 gram range. The only sourced ammunition I have which is
not
lead, is terrible West-Australian limestone rocks. There are tons of them lying around, and they are very porous, angular and rough.

Any. 15-500 grams
For target practice I usually pick 70-200 grams stones. I don't really care about the variation in Mass I just pick stones that are slingable, there are not that many, and expect my mind to adapt shot to shot.
Rarely tennis balls.
I'll see what consistent ammo does when I use the concrete ammo.
For range 30-60grams elongated stones work best.

I generally sling egg sized oval shaped smooth river stones. I've never weighed one but I imagine they're about 100-125g.
