Hello from aus

Hi, been a viewer on here for a couple years now so decided to make an account. Used to sling as a kid and have started getting back into it with tennis balls in the park. Currently trying to learn flint napping for making woomera dart heads and getting better at making grass rope-cordage to try making a sling out off. I’m living in the garden city in qld, but was raised in the country (never went to school) and prefer it out there but better for the kids being in town. Have a few hobbies (40k, cars, old books, bookbinding, stone working) and me and my wife work from home currently.

Welcome from Pennsylvania!  Sounds like you have quite a few things keeping you busy.  I'm definitely curious to hear about your progress with that grass cordage sling Smiley

Thanks all!
Joe_meadmaker I will get a post up about the grass cordage at some point, I am currently trying to see if one type of grass is better than others after drying, I have one that is excellent but I cant find it growing in big amounts and I don't want to pull all of it up and never see it again so looking for another at moment.
Mersa, TheJackinati, G'day, you fellas are on the wrong side! Lol, just kidding, I like WA too, been over the Nullarbor 3 times and lived over there for a year.
walter, Yeh it's a change to the norm, but it's about the only way for me to earn money now, my wife is a lot better at it than me as she's into the online marketing area though.

Welcome from the Philippines! One question, have you tried making sling bullets from shaping stones? Roll Eyes

Timpa did a video on how to make sing bullets from stone that would probably be a bit quicker than knapping Cheesy
