Momentum: Sling vs 9 mm

Tod of Tod's Workshop posted another video about slings. He is not a great slinger, as he himself admits (he makes beautiful crossbows and daggers), and there might be problems with the comparison. But it's hard to disagree with his conclusion: Slings are awesome.

Hört ihr eigentlich gerne andere Reden? Ein guter Slinger ist er wirklich nicht. Dann wüßte er, daß die Power nichts mit der Geschwindigkeit des Rotors zu tun hat.

I knew the power of a sling on my (I think it was) second throw. I split a wooden plank in half. Straight down the middle and sent the two halfs flying. Amazingly lucky shot but from that moment on I respected the sling. It's a weapon.

The power comes from the thrower. The sling is just a transmission system. People are the weapon!

“My final hour is at hand. We face an enemy more numerous and cunning than the world has yet seen. Remember your training, and do not fear the hordes of Judas. I, without sin, shall cast the first stone. That will be your sign to attack! But you shall not fight this unholy enemy with stones. No! RAZOR GLANDES! Aim for the eyes! May the Lord have mercy, for we shall show none!“ -Jesus the Noodler

I thought the power comes from the sling (specifically the length). The thrower is just the system that sets up the vectors for release (and inputs some minimal power). Hence form more important than strength ?

muscles are the only energy input to the system. the form ,the sling etc change the efficiency of the system to "translate" muscle energy to projectile kinetic energy.
increasing energy input and efficiency is important
you might be confused because when a noob jerks his limbs he does unnecessary movements which is more energy but is low efficiency.
becoming stronger and faster will not only increase energy input but also increase control which creates capability for efficiency.
