A Plague Tale: Innocence

There is a video game due out in May whose protagonist uses a sling. Here is a gameplay demo from 2018:

Skip to 9:45 if you want to see some slinging action.

the best slinging movement I ve ever seen in a game . Cool

I 've always wondered how a too realistic aiming system in a game for slings would look like, probably not gamer friendly Tongue

Certainly if you want to be using a sling for stealth.

"I think there's an enemy in the bushes over there"
"How do you know?"
"I felt a breeze go past my ear."

Now, If Sarosh/Acro was handling that sling with the four-flop stones...

"VVVVRRRRRRRMMMMMMMMM!"
"BZZZZZZUUUUUUUUMMMMMM!"

Guard 1: "Did you just hear that!?"
Guard 2: "What the hell was that!"

I posted about this a year ago.  The producers of the game are located in France.  I actually sold a sling to them to use as a model for their version  of E3, was at their booth when they showcased the game. It was supposed to be at E3 last year as well. I am supposed to get a digital copy of the game, but since i am off grid now, no way to play it if I ever get a copy. .

I sent them a rock man and a seat belt sling

sling aiming system would probably work like typical golf swing controls.
but with a smaller sweet spot and faster moving pointer.

So you'd need to hit the buttong faster and with more accuracy.

So typically you have a pointer or bar going round a dial, you hit the button once to determine power, and a second time for accuracy.

Unless you have a contrroller system like the wii, when you just swing like  you're holding a golf club.
I like computer golf games Smiley

The same system would work well for slings.

Shame the wii is old now, but you could do the same with the switch controllers I reckon.

I hadn't thought about golf game controls that would work really well.

Finally a game that treats the sling like the deadly weapon it is!  Most people in modern  times don’t realize that you are so likely to be instantly eaten by a horde of rats if you get hit by a rock from a sling like that Grin
