We have chrono speeds from luis
200g at 52m/s

Timpa also got some nice numbers with a radar
70g at 61m/s

they're some real numbers.

At least it's some publicity.

He's not a sling guy, but seems to know his crossbows.

Yeah, Tod Tedeschini (I believe that is his name) Is one of the best Medieval crossbow manufacturers. He makes really high quality pieces that are historically accurate down to the tiniest details (As can be inferred). He's also built Ballistae!

I believe that some of his crossbows appeared in the miniseries "Wolf Hall".

Tod also makes high-quality reproductions of Medieval swords and daggers. IIRC, Tobias Capwell (Who is the curator of 'arms and armour' at the Wallace collection) gave high praise to some of his reproduction swords, comparing them to the original swords held within the collection.

Some of his bollock daggers appeared in the Netflix movie "Outlaw King."

All in all, this video should hopefully bring in some publicity.

Hopefully, He decides to make some historically accurate sling reproductions and sling bullet reproductions to sell on his website which can be found here. https://todsworkshop.com/pages/historical-weapon-replicas.

I believe that Tod is also planning on making a video on how to make slings, and later on might make a video on Staff slings.

well as long as he's not making and selling the slings like the one he uses in the video.

He even said stuff was coming out sideways. Sheesh.

Are you sure it is the sling and not the user?

My first time slinging, I managed to get most of my shots going backwards to the left of me!

It's amazing I'm still alive. Shocked

Of course, split-braid slings tend to do that, and that was my first sling type, and I was a new slinger... so I had the odds stacked against me. I have since moved onto Woven split-pouch designs... which are far, far superior!

well being equivalent to a musket would depend on how many grains of black powder were placed in it.  i am sure the military prolly had a standardized amount prepackaged, at least more advanced ones anyway  but that statement is too generalized really.

but 25 meters per second seems quite slow to me....
