vetryan15 if i woke up with 7" of snow, the world around me would be in chaos! these desert people can't even drive in a drizzle lol, and they 2 hr delay school for anything over 1.5" snow, or sleet which is more likely; it almost never precipitates in any fashion other than morning dew anyway.
i spent time in and around Ruidoso/Cloudcroft, NM area and that place gets 4-5 month spans of 36" frozen slabs of this shaded snowmeltfreeze nonsense that seemingly never goes away; those people expect you to be able to drive uphill in it to fix the tv
which is what i used to do before i accidentally tried to twist off my knee (not at work) and am battling for my job back and the stupid amount of money the maths say they owe since they quit paying my disability. in 2016, the stupids.

walter thanks! i love to demonstrate anything i came up with. if ever any hammock/camping/bushcrafting/survival ideas or questions pop up ever, feel free to shoot them my way. i have an enormous amount of random information stored in my brain on crazy subjects, nothing would ever be so out of the ordinary that i didn't at least have a start.
for instance, in my pursuit of 'my way', i did not tie off the ends of the pouches as instructed, and evidently 'my way' was lame because it came undone before i ever even slung it. the ends are whipped under the first couple wrappings, so they should stay and if they do not stay then
i'll try again. i feel as though this jute won't last through too much abuse anyhow, but i hada do it with my ADHD hands and jute was the best choice as its cheap,on hand, and when it deteriorates i won't be too hurt.

Drakolith thank you! you have possibly the most epic lawful or chaotic evil handle, ever. My brother in law is about to DM 5e Mines of Phandelver for my wife and i to play, fully hope we meet one of your ilk by which to :archer: in the face! i once, back when you schlepped your pc in a wagon, had a friend that setup LAN parties in a backroom in some kids house somewhere that had the handle alucard187u on like everything. everquest and everquest-y games. i am honored to have known the dastardly rouge lol. RIP KWASS!
thanks for the welcome fellas, and the first attempt was to show that i mean business. i started building arrows (cane stakes at home depot $4, craft feathers at walmart $2, dollar store superglue, thread, 2 ton epoxy i already had in a bucket) because i got a bow from an unlce that died (RIP KEVIN!), i spliced a string out of dyneema hammock suspension line that works perfectly, and decimated my crappy fiberglass arrows on a steel plate in my backyard from 30 yards fairly accurately and i needed more arrows but am broke. i learned to make string from materials at hand and i mean to learn to make a bow whenever that opportunity presents itself to me. i currently live in a desertous scrubland that offers few, if any, treestands of any size and no rivercane. we got yucca. and we got dirt and we got mesquite bushes. and we got rocks. yucca makes string, and dirt (seemingly) makes glandes, and if not there are rocks around. this is a thing that can happen in a few hours time and possibly bink a rabbit. rabbit is about all a wild and hungry desert person without a rifle is going to get. and if he had a rifle, he'd still get rabbit because its good eatin when one is hungry!
finished a 2nd keychain in the slingweave fashion this morning!
