Dream Vehicle from Fiction
Nov 9th, 2018 at 10:47am

What's your Fictional Dream Vehicle?

For me, easy; Banshee.

As cool as it might be to fly an X-Wing, going uber fast and destroying things with their quad-cannons, a banshee has a lot of control, to the point where it can go slow enough and be tough enough that even if it takes a direct hit to the ground, most of the time that doesn't do much to the vehicle. It can also go extremely fast if need be and decelerate immediately. A banshee can either be taken on a slow Sunday drive or a fast aerial dogfight. Bailing is so simple as you would only need to open the hatch and let go of the controls, and then out you go out the back of the vehicle.

Plus it just looks so weird and cool, I also rather like the idea of plasma and fuel rod ammo on demand.

The God's Egg
an egg shaped vehicle made out of a transparent material, could be graphene
it flies with antigravity, pilot gets no g-forces inside ,meaning it can take 90 or 360° turns without you becoming a pulp Tongue
runs on free energy, has biosphere temperature and humidity conditions
can fly with a joystick for 2 dimensions and your mind for altitude and speed.
it has a tesla interferometer plasma shield which protects against conventional arms and a strong magnetic shield that protects from the conditions in space such as nuclear reactions in stars etc
version 1 : is big enough for a standing man
version 2 : fits 1 man and his partner , for romantic space rides ;P

that's a dream vehicle

How would 0 gravity prevent you from experiencing g forces? Even if you have no weight, you would still have mass, and momentum.

Do you mean vehicles in fiction? Or any fictional vehicle you can imagine? Are we limiting it to ground vehicles?  Assuming it has to be vehicle from fictional stories...
If we can do spacecraft, then it’s a toss-up between the Death Star and the Heart Of Gold (with an added SEP invisibility shield).

If we’re sticking with ground vehicles, I might have to go with the Gecko Mobile because it drives up walls and my 4yo would think it was awesome ;P

Prowlgrin Cheesy From the Edge Chronicles series. Essentially  the houses of the series but they can bound through trees and and look like big round furry balls with lots of teeth... sort of. Also can be ridden into battle which is a plus.

problem with the tardis is that you don't have a lot of control on where and when you actually end up.

montana - what is the banshee from ?

I think you could do a lot worse than the red dwarf.
Big enough to be a city in itself and can 'eat' anyone who disagrees with you Smiley
if you want something small and fast - the blitzspear from nemesis the warlock.
living ships are cool - actually the Lex would also be pretty cool.
Giant semi-sentient dragon fly that can destroy planets if someone really annoys you Smiley

Banshee is from the videogame series Halo (sounds like that banshee at least). Red Dwarf would be good but Star Bug would be more fun Cheesy

So many obscure vehicles here lol, lots of either old tv show or literature entries. Pretty interesting ones too.
