The Greater Cord of Firewood?
Sep 3rd, 2018 at 10:46pm

All,
I've been working on some reading, recently, and stumbled across Norwegian Wood, by Lars Mytting.
https://www.barnesandnoble.com/p/norwegian-wood-lars-mytting/1121770301/26603480...

He mentions in passing the "Greater Cord" which looks to be a V or L shaped stack of full logs, all cut to a somewhat uniform length, limbed, but not barked. I've never seen this before, and being the museum person I am, I had to know the technicalities of it.

I can't find anything at all.

So, I thought I'd turn to a collection of other people who look for strange things, and see if anyone had any book suggestions on the history of Scandinavian Woodcutting, historic measuring units of the region, or something similar.

There has to be something out there, right?

Thanks!
