I don't know if I can ever get to this but; I really want to see if I can find a way to make some slings that both look like they can exist in Middle Earth and be representative of the factions I wanna portray.

Any ideas as to what I could do? For example I'd think for Mirkwood Elves, maybe an Apache style (but with a fishtail braid) consisting of green and gold cords with a brown leather pouch with an elven symbol on the back, or maybe a sling of Gondor with a black body, white whipping, and blue leather with the white tree on the pouch.

I might have to have a go at an orc sling. I would guess a slurry and simple split pouch. All leather pieces. I might throw one together later today

Elven sling should be a super thin braid and fine net pouch. Made from spider silk and mythrl twine

I just bought undyed 1mm linen cordage and plan to dye it myself. I think I'm going with Fiebings leather dye unless someone mentions something better here.

I buy my leather as scraps from our local Tandy Leather Co. Store. You can get tons of leather for fairly cheap if you buy scraps.
