Slinging at the museum
Aug 4th, 2018 at 6:26am

So, I helped out with a 2 day class at the local science museum. It was on ancient artillery. Naturally I had to do slings. The kids made glandes from air dry clay and then tried out their skills.
Sorry about the size.

Very cool. So important to get kids outdoors and pursuing physical activities.  This adds experimenting with aerodynamics and ballistics.

Some colleges with anthropology departments have anthropology clubs with experimental anthropology activities.  I offered to pit together a sliding demo. for the anthro. club at our local U.  Hoping for a response for fall semester.
