Forgotten Finnish fishing invention

Nobody Finns know this invention. And it can not be bought anywhere.

Nice. A shame they don't sell it anymore. Here in the South we use a low tech version of that with jug fishing. The fish pulls a milk jug or some other bottle underwater and the buoyancy pops the jug back up setting the hook.

   Very cool but such a device would be illegal in my state of New Jersey.  I did some jug fishing when I was stationed in the South, Morhpy.  It's an extremely efficient way to catch pan fish.

I've not used it for pan fish but around here people catch catfish with them I think. I've never done jug fishing but in a survival situation if I found some jugs that's what I would do with them. Let them fish while I'm doing something else.

Jug fishing snapping turtles was stll common in the fifties.
