What's my style called ?

Hello, colleagues ! I was looking for a style that resembled throwing a hand stone. I found this style by accident, and I liked it. The experience of employment a sling - 2 months. Живу в Санкт - Петербурге (Россия).  Кидаю камни  в городе, потому что нет другого варианта. На моём канале есть ещё два видео про этот стиль.

Nice throw!  I think your style is best classed under the "figure-8."  Some people prefer to start by holding the sling out in front of them instead of spinning, but the actual cast is the same.  There are plenty of example videos of figure-8.  Here is one:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lJjXXnDSB4s

I tried that. But my style wins on the power of the throw. It's hard to explain why. It seems to me that due to the fact that when you raise your hand in my style, the right shoulder can be quite strongly pulled back before the throw. Next you need to pull very sharply by the shoulder.

11 minutes, 30 seconds - exercise with an empty sling.

Looks like the fig-8 alright. Looks like you're getting some good power too.

Yeah I say it's figure 8 with wind up. I need to post my half 8 , similar to last 50% of this throw.

I've not seen a fig 8 with wind up rotations before. I'll have to give it a try. It's so hot over here slinging is a bit daunting but I might just fore myself and deal with the sweat Cheesy

About a rapid change in rotation of the upper arms I already wrote. I have swing. In FIG-8 it is not or almost not. I noticed that when execution of the FIG - 8 broken stones, they fly up, and if they are thwarted in carrying out my shots, then fly off to the side.  This is because the final section of the trajectory I have is more like a segment of the node - Shamrock. And I believe. that it provides me with additional energy reserves. That's significant. But for the city of FIG-8 is very good that the chances of someone to kill the minimum. All accidental breakdowns are safe. Below is a diagram of the node-Shamrock.  Mentally isolate from it about one-third part.

At the stage of unwinding the right hand should be strongly pulled back. Otherwise, then the stones will fly to the ground.

And remind ... 11 minutes, 30 seconds - exercise with an empty sling.

yep fig 8 with a windup.

Good technique !

And yes practice with an empty sling is good - I do that a lot Smiley

Figure 8 is a wide category - but that's definitely what you are doing Smiley

I can't understand why most people use horizontal throw. After all, we all threw stones in a vertical stroke as a child.

I've found horizontal throws and throws coming up, rather than going down like fig 8, are better for distance so that is one reason.

As much as I love the fig-8 I can't deny I get more raw power with a side arm throw. But for pinpoint accuracy I will always love the fig-8.   Smiley

i think most people throw somewhere in between sidearm and overarm ,maybe 45 degrees.

i ve met people who do less throwing than me that can surpass me easily in long tossing by hand . one of them used underarm-sidearm style almost like when trying skipping a stone.

I noticed that modern boys don't know how to throw stones with their hands. I could throw half a cubic meter of stones a day with my friends, when I was a child. And I easily threw snowball on the roof of a nine-storey house in the winter. where he lived. If the vertical throw is not trained, then a slingshot, it will not be powerful. The secret is to make the whole body work. And it is necessary that the shoulder went forward ahead, and the hand would catch up with the shoulder. Then the power of the throw will be very high. I tried to teach my style to a few people. None of them know how to include the whole body in the throw.
