braiding weaving something

other than a sling and sling pouch.
I finger wove the camo strap several years ago, but never did get around to attaching it to a quiver. The SO spotted it a few months ago and decided it would make a good enough belt. After a while, she decided I should make another just a little wider with more black Told her I would rather get a job than to finger weave another strap, but went ahead and did what I was told  Wink
The third pic is a practice piece for a double nine strand flat braided belt for myself.
Fourth pic shows what the belt will look like in hemp.
Last pic is a book mark.

Thanks! Check out "Encyclopedia of Rawhide and Leather Braiding" by Grant and "Finger Weaving: Indian Braiding" by Alta R Turner. Some of the more intricate braiding: Lightning and double lightning, Arrow head, Peruvian reps, Peruvian cross rep.

Oh so that is actually braiding? I was sure maybe at least the chevron pattern up above was macrame. Wow. So much to learn. You guys are an incredible bunch with all these varied skills I won't learn ten percent of them before I die but sure will enjoy trying anyways.

Those are beautiful pieces (yours) and of course the bottom ones as well. Any thought about incorporating some of this stuff into your new slings?

None of these pics are macrame. What is sometimes called indian braiding is really finger weaving. No separate weaver. The warps are also weavers Undecided
I am thinking of covering split pouches with finger woven dogbane straps , but no other changes in my Balearic slings. Fist braiding interests me, but still have a long way to go improving the finger weaving and flat braiding before I tackle that.

S0's black leather belt wore out, so I braided a replacement.
