Right now we are getting a huge storm , it started as rain. Then switched to snow. They are calling for 12in to 18in of snow.  We shall see how it goes

Earlier in the week we had finished out our maple taping season,  with 32oz of syrup.  Well i didnt like the final product so we did some more boiling down on it today. And now we are finished with our 2nd season of maple tapping done. Looks like i was able to boil it down by another 1/2. So we finished with 16oz of syrup. We had 24 taps, but there are certian maples that you shouldn't waste your time tapping.  Like silver maples, but i am still learning the identification of a few of the sub species of maples.  But next year we will be adding more taps. If you look closely at the tap, i got a pic of the sap dripping out, but it froze. One day i hope to have enough syrup to do a few trades and barter.

yesterday  may 9th, we received  a huge snow storm. We got almost 10 inches,  flock isnt happy, but the dogs are. I forgot about it, and need to unbury my sled, and some tools to go cut firewood. But within a week, the snow should be melted.

I have plenty of room. I think 20 acres is enough for a few visitors,  its just gonna be primative camping till we upgrade.  My gf said 'who was gonna be making the pancakes 'lol. I said  she was.  I haven't got that death look in awhile. Lol

I have plenty of ash staves. Throw a bow building camp out. The staves have been drying since last year, and most are straight. Each stave can produce 2-3 bows each.

We have had such a demand for our eggs we sell. That we added another 15 chicks that came in today,  we do have someone who is possibly interested in taking a few chicks. Since we have no power we do radiant hesting with bottles of hot water for the brooder.

In other news i am currently working on putting my solar panel/wind turbine hybrid system together so we can have power. Its been 2 years without power. I would like to. Run my power tools, and dyhydrator,. As well as get the tiny house and camper hooked up so we can have guests. The system is 1400 watts,  its something i can slowly add on too as $ comes in.

It is, we havent had it for 2 years ears.. its mostly gonna be for our dehydrator,  some tools to charge and some appliances.  Plus if i can buy the property across the street, i can add it over the there. The house could be wired for complete off grid power. One less bill

@walter hell yeh!!! Definitely come on up. Just be warned, my accuracy sucks lol havent practiced in awhile. Grin
