My Camo Sling Issue

So I've tested my camo "peacefuljefferey" sling, I slung round ovoid stones and it worked rather fine. Then I grabbed a stone which was flatter on one side whereas a bit rounder on the other (barely a disk). I go to put the stone on its flatter side in the pouch, threw it, and it fell out once, go to shoot it again and it flew okay. Could it be that the pouch has to have a cup to it, or is there a certain function to a pouch with either a flat or cupped profile, or was that just a crappy rock?

I'll use the photo that I used recently in another thread. I'll let you figure out which one's the camo sling, lol.

I've had similar experiences with flat rocks. Less points of contact= less friction= more likely to fall out.

Certain shapes seem to work really well in virtually all slings, others sometimes give me trouble. Flatish stones and golf balls both have problems for some of my slings. On the other hand a slightly rounded bullet shape I find to be as stable as any shape I've tried.

Sounds like mostly a bad stone. You can have slings that have a pouch that can hold and throw any stone but I have to have to say having a slightly more... discerning pouch can be good as it ensures you get rocks that fly well.
