One thing to remember is that the human body is designed to hold onto fat for as long as possible. In the past, people would expect to be near starving for sometimes months and so our bodies are very good at making stores and then not letting go of them "just in case". Your body fights hard because it thinks it's saving you the next time the harvest fails. You can do it! Cheesy

That’s also why alcohol is a great survival food: it goes through the liver and gets turned straight into fat. It’s a fast and efficient way to build those winter reserves.

“My final hour is at hand. We face an enemy more numerous and cunning than the world has yet seen. Remember your training, and do not fear the hordes of Judas. I, without sin, shall cast the first stone. That will be your sign to attack! But you shall not fight this unholy enemy with stones. No! RAZOR GLANDES!  Aim for the eyes! May the Lord have mercy, for we shall show none!“  -Jesus the Noodler

My bowling league had it's end of season party last night.  There was pizza, wings, all sorts of chips and junk food, sweet, fattening desert food, etc..  I ate none of it. People were amazed. Usually I pig out.  I am committed.

Good job! I have very little self control. I'm not overweight... yet. I'm thinking I need to change my ways before I'm TOLD I need to change my ways.

Keep at it and well done RM. 16 pounds may be less than you are used to but that's still a good amount of weight not to be carrying around.

The  fact that I'm not having incredible success makes me dig in my heels even more.  That's my nature.  I will succeed.
kto, the older you get the easier it will become to put on pounds.  I can think of one very good reason to develop good habits now.  Once you get really fat (I was almost 300 lbs the last time my weight got away from me) you're never the same.  You can loose the weight and look and feel much better, but especially after a certain age your skin stays stretched so without surgery you'll never look like you did before you got fat.  And after a couple of operations like yours truly has had you really look bizarre. I leave my shirt on these days.  Better to not get fat in the first place.
