you know i have been thinking about adding a modernized sole. taking powdered re-cycled tire rubber, mixing it thickly with some quality rubber cement and applying it to bottom. idk yet if i will but it looks ok on the ones i have seen. and when the sole starts to wear out, just wash it, let it dry and add a fresh coat.

as an exrock climber, the turn shoe design kind of looks like a mountain climbing shoe, at least in the back. if i brought the toe up some and put the rubber sole on it, it could almost pass for a pair of climbing shoes.

Moccasins are neat too and you might find it easier to mount a firmer sole onto a mocc. At that point it might be more like a Sperry deck shoe though.... If you have questions feel free to pm me.
