And that's why, when I'm asked what I would take out into the woods in a survival situation, I say a group of 15 people, tools, building materials and connections with other nearby groups. Technically humans have always been surviving and we're surviving now. The only difference between my front room and the middle of the forest is proximity to people that can help me.
