the polyprop is as close to indestructible as you can get.
I was hammering a piece against the concrete floor of my workshop lst night, like a demented chimp

Didn't even mark it.

Got the net attached to the top frame and screws in corners.
The old camo netting is a perfect fit. bungees and cable ties at corners and cable ties all along the sides.

Keot it fairly loose so, will absorb impact and reduce damage to the net.

I've got another net as wel as a 10x1 metre length of rubble netting. I think the cotton net will prove much the tougher as it's naturally stretchy, where the rubble netting isn't.

All brackets made, just need time in daylight to put it all together. Given that it gets dark around 16:00 at the moment - might have to wait till the weekend, unless I get a quiet day.

Need to drill a couple hanging holes in the metal plate I found, added hanging/ guy rope points to the two top corners.
I'll sticka pic up later - camera's in the workshop and I'm not

I recently got a baseball target,(like this ) and with some Lacrosse balls, the thing works pretty well.

So I'm fitting the pipe to the brackets and feeling smug that they are such a good fit.

And then I realise that it's not pipe that goes in the brackets, it's actually pipe holders - which have a much larger diameter - DOH !

Hopefully get them redesigned tomorrow, maybe today, but will definitely have time tomorrow night.
Sigh.

the build moves on slowly.

Added netting and centre support - it's actually surprisingly stable just with the centre support.

Currently printing a test 60degree bracket for the top of the side supports.
It's a test because the one I made, was too long for the printer(s) so i reduced the length enough to get on the longest build plate. Not sure how much that will deform the socket - looks okay in the print preview, we'll see.

So couple pics of what was up this morning so i could work out where the side supports were going and what angle I needed for the bracket.

It's definitely that way round lol
And pic showing how it fits in a normal sized car.
You could probably even get people in the back with it, if they didn't mind netting in their face.
Mind you if i remove all the crap in my boot, it would fit in the back fairly easily too.

The netting is deliberately fairly loose, this way it absorbs the impact of the missile, dissipates the energy over the entire surface and shouldn't tear or break.

Looks good C_A!

I have so many stray shots I would end up spending most of my time chasing down my ammunition if I had a target as small as that though. So, kudos!

I recently received this baseball backstop from a neighbor. It works pretty well. And lucky for me, it's pretty big! (doesn't stop me from missing completely though).
