Tropics Very Active... Here We Go Again:

Jose is still meandering aimlessly around.  No one can predict with any certainty if or where he will strike.  A hit on the Northeast is a possibility.  And now we have Maria and Lee to watch.  Things could get interesting.

That's crazy. Is this going to be the new normal?

Most Climatologists believe that hurricanes will become more frequent, more powerful, and reach farther north as ocean temperatures rise. Major U.S. Northeastern and New England cities are woefully unprepared for a major hurricane strike.

Actually, that's normal.  We are coming off the longest period of not having hurricanes since we started keeping records in 1847.

Late '50's through the '70's, the number actually hitting land was still on the lower end.  Although the ones that hit could be really bad, most stayed at sea.
