This looks like a great idea and a good way of pushing yourself to get better. I am getting back into slinging after many years off. So I braided up a sling the other night and made some of those balloons filled with sand ( cool idea, I have only used stones and tennis balls).  My plan is to compete against myself and post the video here for constructive suggestions. I will video the first 10 shots and go from there. https://youtu.be/g6eCq1X1LhM
The sling needs some tuning and I need some warm-up and stretching. I also found that the shot was a little heavy for starting and I need more layer of balloons to hold the shape better. I plan to post again in two or three weeks.
Thanks for any ideas to improve!

Nice slinging George!  Your technique looks very similar to what I do.  Where are you slinging?  Looks like you're in an auditorium or something. Smiley

Was slinging today in the dark, and my target was bushes around 50 meters away. I was checking different throwing techniques and I have to say that it felt good hitting it most of the times.

Will be posting a video next time maybe this weekend.

YEEESSSSS!!!!!!  Beautiful hit my man!

I love how your technique was a little different than what I used.  I threw the target up, and took the shot when it was coming back down.  But you went into your sling rotation at the same time as the throw, and hit it pretty much at the peak of its trajectory.  Fantastic!

Cheers buddy, so what are we doing next ?

Really impressed with your slinging and surprised that I got it so quickly.

Maybe we need a distance accuracy challenge?
Or another aerial target perhaps a frisbee in flight ??
Or a super accurate challenge like hammering a nail into wood or blowing out a candle???

It’s also getting closer to Easter so maybe we could revisit the egg challenge??

I'm definitely game for the egg challenge again.  I know my accuracy has improved since last year and I'm anxious to try it again.  But with Easter not coming around until April, I think we can squeeze something else in before that.

I like all your ideas.  Although I am drawn to the aerial target idea.  I'm a big fan of adding the "instinctive" aspect.  Perhaps a moving target.  I think I could set up something like a large scale pendulum.  Then try to hit the swinging target.  Any other thoughts on a way to do a moving target?

I've also been trying to think of a good way to do a speed challenge.  Something like throwing a certain number of projectiles into the air before the first one hits the ground.  I think that could be hard to get on video though.

Filming can sometimes be the hardest part , you really need an extra person or a bulletproof camera to get some angles.

I’ve always pondered with the idea of throwing one projectile up almost straight and then attempting to hit it with the second projectile before it hits the ground. I think it’s doable but would be a hard one to film. I feel like I would be filling a few memory cards before I got that one in the bag.

Pendulum I feel is almost too easy I think it would take longer to set up than it would to hit , unless the actual target was tiny.

Frisbee would be fun , but needs an extra person to throw the frisbee for you.

A long distance accuracy shot could be fun ?

Perhaps standing at the bottom of a hill and kicking a soccer ball up the hill and trying to sling it as it rolls down?
I’d have to find a good spot for that.

Always wanted to try hammer in a nail with a sling .

Candle could also be cool?

Floating target?? I’m intending on that for next pumpkin challenge.

There has always been talk of curving a shot around a tree or shooting over a wall to a blind target ?

Lots of options we just need to agree.
It seems we’re very active in this post
