I like it.  I remember your video with the egg toss into the air.  Very cool (even though there wasn't a hit)!

What about a challenge building on that idea.  I don't want to dig in to Easter yet, way too early.  But what about a hit on an air-bound object.  Basically we'll need to throw something in the air, and hit it with a sling thrown projectile.  I think we can allow for a larger target than an egg.  At least I would appreciate that. Wink

Here's my contest proposition.  Throw an object in to the air (ball, ballon, carboard box, an egg if you really want, etc.) and get a hit.  No restriction on projectile, whatever you want.  The target object can't be any larger than 24 inches (61 cm) across.  I think shooting for 5 m distance on the hit is good, but no specific restrictions because that could be difficult depending on the object (flight time may vary Smiley).

Thoughts?

I know jaegoor has hit multiple airborne targets and I think it's time we all started to try . I'll be down for it, I know Kick will be hindered by winter but hopefully a few members are up for the challenge.

I've seen Jaegoor do that.  Incredible stuff!

I'm in winter too, so that's no excuse for Kick. Wink

Being on Santa's naughty list is a good thing, if you are a blacksmith...  Wink

Good charcoal doesn't come for free, y'know! Unless you're naughty.

(No, I don't blacksmith myself, It's just a joke I've heard by one)

IS THAT A CHALLENGE SIR?! Cheesy

I can guarantee that I will fail though. I've only just got enough coordination to sling let alone throw something then sling Cheesy

If you are throwing the ball in the air then I suggest you use a handball , the biggest size that you can grab w/ one hand. If another is doing the throwing you can use almost anything.

Okay guys, here you go!  A few things.  First, I can't begin to describe how much fun this was.  Just a blast!  Although very tiring too. Smiley

Second, if you're on a hill, I would recommend using a target that doesn't roll well.  I'm on a bit of a hill, and I think if I'd have been using a ball it would have constantly been rolling down the hill.

Third, make sure your sling has a pouch that holds the projectile well.

Without further ado, slinging at an airborne target.

Damn! You did amazing! I really need to get out there. It's been horribly wet and miserable (not even any snow so it's been dark too) so I haven't been slinging in ages.

Thanks guys!  Be it now or later, I definitely recommend giving this a try.  I did have a (much longer) video with every throw, but for some reason it didn't come out very good.  The video was kind of choppy.  I still have the original recordings so I might try cutting it up again.  It took a long time though so I'm not sure yet.
