The crabapple trees around here have started to drop their fruit. These crabapples don't make good eating (very sour), but they make great sling ammo.

My crab apples are about 1/2 that size.
Not much bigger than marbles and way too light for good slinging.

The apples make a very satisfying "splat" when they hit the target.
A lot of trees still haven't dropped their fruit so I should have a steady supply of apples for awhile yet.
