35 ounces is ridiculous.   Smiley   It would be interesting to see the kinetic energy on that. Maybe with an even longer sling.

I've got an Hungarian army helmet (not sure what year but I guess around Cold War era) that I'm really tempted to test out. The problem is that I'm fairly sure it'll just get scratches and maybe a few small dents and nothing spectacular will happen and I only have the one and I'm loathe to break it Cheesy

That's why a lot of the helmet tests, even if the helmet is unscathed, don't really tell you if it's survivable. Just the sheer force imparted would be enough for a concussion at least half the time.

Thanks guys Smiley

So it seems to be, even though the helmet remains intact, the head still hurts.

If someone does the same, it would be great to see it. Cheesy

Awesome.  Really good test and lots of fun to watch.

But not really surprised, it's to protect the head of someone going really fast in one direction who gets hit by a rock thrown up by someone going fast in the opposite direction.  The combined speeds are probably way over what anyone can actually sling.
